Collection: Sara Thompson

Sara Thompson apprenticed for a bench jeweler from the ages of 11 to 16 and learned the fundamentals of metalsmithing. She gained experience working as a jeweler and running a retail storefront on Martha’s Vineyard. She graduated high school at 16 and moved across the country to Portland, OR to start a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in Craft with a concentration in Metals at Oregon College of Art and Craft.

Sara thrived at OCAC with the mentor-based learning program and honed her skills as a jeweler and metalsmith. At 20, she completed her BFA and produced her first collections of silver vessels and spoons as part of her thesis work in 2017. Since then she has gone on to produce jewelry and silver work, showing at many fine exhibitions, including the Smithsonian Craft Show and American Craft Council Shows.
